We were meant to be, supposed to be, but we lost it
And all of the memories, so close to me, just fade away
All this time you were pretending
So much for my happy ending

Amber |ˈambə|

amber |ˈambə|
noun
hard translucent fossilized resin produced by extinct coniferous trees of the Tertiary period, typically yellowish in color.

• a honey-yellow color typical of this substance.
• a yellow light used as a cautionary signal between green for “go” and red for “stop” : the lights were at amber.

Amber has been used in jewelry since antiquity. It is said that the clarity of a piece of amber determines its value. Its usually normal to find pieces of amber but they usually contain impurities.

We all have a certain perspective of life. We all like to believe that we have a crystal clear picture of what we see. Unfortunately, we see what we want. Its the impurities that block out the things that we don't see (perhaps we choose to hide behind the things we do not want to see). If and only if we could see through that crystal clear amber. Lets call a spade a spade and deal with it.

Yesterday a piece of me died. And along with that, a piece of impurity chipped away. I look forward to the day, when all the impurities are chipped away, leaving a crystal clear amber. Maybe, just maybe, this world can be a better place.

I've got a midnight bottle gonna drink it down
A one way ticket takes me to the times we had before
When everything felt so right
If only for tonight
A midnight bottle gonna ease my pain
From all these feelings driving me insane
I think of you and everything's all right
If only for tonight

Got a midnight bottle
Drifting off into the candlelight
Where I can find you any old time
Midnight bottle I forgot how good it felt to be in a dream
just like you had me
'Cause lately I've been stumbling feels like I'm recovering
But I think it's only for tonight

Know your name And go your own way

Calm down
Deep breaths
And get yourself dressed instead
Of running around
And pulling all your threads and
Breaking yourself up

If it's a broken part, replace it
But, if it's a broken arm then brace it
If it's a broken heart then face it

And hold your own
Know your name
And go your own way
Hold your own
Know your own name
And go your own way

Thanks for being there for me when I needed you buddy.

Realise

Take time to realize,
That your warmth is
Crashing down on in.
Take time to realize,
That I am on your side
Didn't I, Didn't I tell you.

But I can't spell it out for you,
No it's never gonna be that simple
No I cant spell it out for you

If you just realize what I just realized,
Then we'd be perfect for each other
and will never find another
Just realized what I just realized
we'd never have to wonder if
we missed out on each other now.

taradiddle |ˈtarəˈdɪd(ə)l| (also tarradiddle)

He walks despondently, head held low, arm held lower.
He raises his good arm, in it he clutches a bundle of tissue paper.

"Two dollar only, can help to buy?" he said in his raspy accented voice.

Amidst the background noise, a cell phone rings. He reaches instinctively for his belt.
He withdraws his hand to reveal a handphone.

"Harlow?"

I walked way disappointedly.

regret |rɪˈgrɛt|

regret |rɪˈgrɛt|
verb ( -gretted , -gretting ) [ trans. ]
feel sad, repentant, or disappointed over (something that has happened or been done, esp. a loss or missed opportunity)

Long days, meetings, markings, more meetings.

Its no wonder that the question of the day seems to revolve around my decision to quit my previous job was suddenly thrust into the limelight. The question was surprisingly asked a couple of times. I must confess that I find my secret stash of time slowly ebbing away as I struggle to collect what remaining grains of time I can find. The amount of sleep is dwindling but I gather its really just the lethargy is taking hold of my body. We have a creed we live by: "The body is weak, but the mind is strong." My mind drives me at the moment. Keep up the good work buddy.

Regret is merely a state of mind. And if we are not careful, its easy to get caught up in that vortex. And once you are in it, it will take a supernatural feat to get you out of it. I choose to stay clear of that vortex. Its simple, "if" is never a solution to any problem. Its a question that will always beg another question. Regret? Never, because I prefer to look forward.

Stop and Stare

Stop and stare
I think I'm moving but I go nowhere
Yeah, I know that everyone gets scared
But I've become what I can't be, oh
Stop and stare
You start to wonder why you're 'here' not 'there'
And you'd give anything to get what's fair
But fair ain't what you really need
Oh, can you see what I see?

United we stand!

Well, tonight was an interesting night for me. On two different levels. On one level, it was kinda like a flash back to the last time I was in Zouk. The second is when I was in JC. YOu know the silly things they make you do for orientation... The ones where you run about in Orchard Road doing silly things, well, I've never been a fan for silly things. But when a whole group of friends do silly things, it helps "buffer" the silliness. Thanks guys, I enjoyed myself silly this evening. Long time since I had such a good laugh.
